getting started

I'm not a fan of blogging - I read just over last weekend that blogs tend to be opinion-laden rather than well researched or even well thought-through. However, I know that the SL (Second Life) project I'm in will be using a blog between students and lecturers. So - best to get with the program!

  1. I've used Google Docs with students, and they got quite a bit out of it. They easily saw that they could use it to co-operatively dev. docs - on- and off-campus.

  2. In re to Web2.0 awards, I was attracted to the Games - hoping for classroom material. However, Zango - 1st prize - is now a "closed community". And Doof - 3rd prize - wasn't loading. 2nd prize winner Galaxiki might be a possible, when I get more time to explore it.

I alerted another LEARNer to the Genealogy winners, as she's keen on that topic.

I've made a note of the categories so I can alert relevant lecturers to sites of potential value (eg: Retail).
